News - New free e-learning course on communicating risks in public health

Public Health course

We've just launched a new free e-learning course on our platform https://moodle.wintoncentre.uk. Designed for trainees or professionals at any career stage who are interested in communicating risks in a public health context, the course should take less than 2 hours to complete and ends with a certificate of completion.

It covers how to extract numbers from academic publications, how to give them appropriate context and choose the format for the numbers; some classic non-intuitive situations where you might find the numbers confusing, and how to deal with them; and how to approach the communication of uncertainty. We've tried to use relevant examples throughout, and references are linked to if you want to go deeper.

We very much hope that this helps - we've tried to encapsulate everything that we've learned over the past few years!
