Covid-19 international mortality charts

Daily-reported Covid deaths provide an imperfect picture of the effects of the epidemic in any country, both due to reporting delays and the fact that they usually only feature deaths in hospital. Nevertheless the broad patterns can show the basic trends over time.

For interactive graphs based in the UK Office of National Statistics' data by Local Authority in England and Wales, please see https://wintoncentre.maths.cam.ac.uk/coronavirus/covid-excess/.

In the graphs below we show the daily-updated trends within different countries, with a general smoothing algorithm to iron out the sporadic jump due to random variation and reporting practices.

Thanks to Harry Giles for the original code.

In all cases the graphs can take a moment to load so please be patient!
